Students from Year 4, Year 5, Year 6, Year 7 and Year 8 at our school were recently recognised at the prize-giving ceremonies of the School Mathematics Championships, achieving outstanding results in both individual and team competitions.Awards for Year 4 to Year 6 – Santiago venueThe ceremony took place on Tuesday 9 December at the Centre for Artistic and Cultural Extension of the University of Chile, where Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students received recognition for their performance in the School Mathematics Championship for Primary Education.Year 4:The teamMatemates Proachieved 10th place in the team competition. (5C).Year 6:The teamLos Minions Matemáticos 3.0secured 4th place in the team competition. Team members were Amalia R. (6C), Paula B. (6C), Lucía V. (6C), Hadil A. (6C), Montserrat V. (6C), Isidora I. (6C), Colomba M. (6B) and Eloísa O. (6B).Awards for Year 7 and Year 8 – Federico Santa María Technical UniversityOn Wednesday 26 November, the ceremony was held in the Aula Magna of the Federico Santa María Technical University, recognising Year 7 and Year 8 students in the 22nd School Mathematics Championship for Primary Education.Year 7:Joaquín V. (7B) achieved 4th place and a bronze medal in the individual competition.Year 8:In the individual competition, Dominique T. (8A), Gert S. (8A) and Manav V. (8C) achieved 3rd place and bronze medals, while Martin O. (8A) secured 2nd place and a silver medal. In the team competition, the team made up of Renato B., Martin O., Amparo R., Gert S. and Dominique T. (all from 8A) achieved 8th place.These outstanding results reflect our students’ commitment and dedication to developing logical and mathematical thinking, further establishing our school as a benchmark for academic excellence in mathematics.
