Our curriculum at Colegio Pedro de Valdivia Providencia is designed to give students the knowledge, critical thinking skills and confidence they need to become competent citizens who can understand, analyse and act safely and responsibly.
Learn English by exploring and creating
Students develop English naturally and with confidence through the IEYC approach, where inquiry and thematic projects make learning meaningful from the start. A structured phonics programme builds strong phonological awareness and supports early reading and writing, while everyday opportunities to communicate, investigate and create help children enjoy the language and use it with purpose.
Communicate with clarity and confidence
Students build strong communication skills in a stimulating environment that nurtures speaking, reading comprehension and early writing. Through stories, guided conversations and engaging activities, they expand vocabulary, strengthen active listening and develop the foundations for clear, confident and effective communication.
Create, feel and express
Students bring their imagination to life through visual arts, singing, rhythm and movement in spaces designed to inspire creativity and self-expression. Through a wide range of artistic experiences, they develop sensitivity, confidence and emotional awareness while enjoying every opportunity to create, explore and express themselves freely.
Discover logic through playing
Young students explore numbers, shapes and patterns through hands-on, playful experiences that make early maths both engaging and meaningful. By playing, experimenting and solving simple challenges, they develop logical thinking, curiosity and problem-solving skills, building a strong mathematical foundation from an early age.
Explore the world with curiosity
Learners observe, experiment and ask questions as they discover the world around them. Through hands-on activities and active participation, they develop scientific curiosity, learn to investigate and begin to build critical thinking skills in a meaningful and engaging way.
Belong, respect and value the community
Students discover their local environment, traditions and culture in ways that help them build a strong sense of identity and belonging. Through meaningful experiences, they learn to value diversity, strengthen respectful relationships and develop a deeper understanding of the community and the world around them.
Grow with empathy and self-awareness
Young students develop empathy, self-regulation and strong social skills through initiatives such as the Be Kind campaign. In a safe, supportive and trusting environment, they learn to understand and express their emotions, navigate conflict positively and build respectful, caring relationships with others.
Movement, coordination and confidence
Students develop coordination, balance and body awareness through games and psychomotor activities designed to support movement and discovery from an early age. As they play, explore and work together, they build confidence, strengthen healthy habits and nurture the physical and emotional wellbeing that helps them thrive every day.
Grow independence and confidence
Learners develop daily living skills that strengthen autonomy, responsibility and age-appropriate decision-making. In a guided and safe environment, they acquire practical tools that reinforce their self-esteem and personal security.

Life competencies

Foster language and communications skills from an early age while building confidence in oral expression.
Students build the knowledge and skills they need to succeed academically. They benefit from innovative curricula, research-backed approaches to learning, and high-impact assessment tools, all designed to deepen understanding.
Continuous improvement is central across ISP schools. A shared learning improvement framework monitors performance against selected criteria proven to best support student learning. This ensures approaches continue evolving to maximise student success.
Children develop essential life skills as they communicate confidently, expressing their thoughts and ideas during group discussions. They think creatively while working on art projects, solve problems through hands-on activities, and collaborate through team games.
Through classroom activities, they adapt to new situations and, by participating in community projects, develop a sense of social responsibility. These experiences lay a strong foundation for growth, supporting both academic and emotional development.
Following an international curriculum, students benefit from early exposure to a multilingual environment that nurtures a global perspective from the outset. This approach helps them develop key language skills, build confidence and prepare for a promising future in a diverse world.
In a safe and nurturing environment, students feel valued, thrive with confidence and grow with enthusiasm. This strong sense of care and belonging supports both personal development and academic progress.
Here you will find the materials lists, reading plan titles and study texts for Early Years.
Students should begin bringing their texts according to the guidance shared in the welcome emails sent by each Head Teacher, in line with the planning for each school stage. Please ensure that all resources are sent responsibly and clearly labelled with the student’s name and year group.
