Primary School is where children build the foundations for a lifelong love of learning, nurturing curiosity, character and confidence. Alongside academic progress, they develop the essential life skills needed to thrive.
Express creativity with confidence
Our learners explore a wide range of plastic and visual techniques that spark imagination and encourage personal expression. Through art, they build confidence in their own style, learn to value creative work, and share ideas and emotions through thoughtful, meaningful creations.
Discover the universal language of music
Through singing, instruments and active listening, our learners develop coordination, musical sensitivity and a strong sense of teamwork. Music becomes a joyful space where they express themselves, build discipline and enjoy creating together.
Read, write and communicate with confidence
Our learners build strong reading, writing and speaking skills through engaging and inspiring activities. As they grow in confidence, they develop a love of reading and the ability to express themselves clearly, thoughtfully and with ease.
Think, analyse and solve problems with confidence
Our learners develop logical thinking through numbers, operations, geometry and problem-solving. Using hands-on materials and engaging strategies, they build a secure understanding of mathematical concepts and learn to apply them in meaningful real-life situations.
Learn to live together and grow with confidence
Our students develop social-emotional skills that nurture empathy, responsibility and respect. In a caring environment, they build self-awareness, strengthen positive relationships and learn how to live and grow alongside others.
Stay active, healthy and work as a team
Through games and sport, our learners develop motor skills, coordination and a strong sense of teamwork. We encourage healthy, active habits that support their overall wellbeing and help them grow with confidence.
Research and discover
Students at CPV Providencia explore the natural world through observation, enquiry and hands-on experimentation. As their curiosity grows, they develop scientific thinking, learn to ask meaningful questions and gain the confidence to investigate, discover and understand the world around them.
Understanding the World
Our students know the history, geography and community that surrounds them, developing identity and a sense of belonging. We promote respect and initial citizenship training.
Create with digital tools
Our students develop basic digital skills and creative thinking through the guided use of technology. They learn to use digital tools responsibly and productively.
Growing with solid principles
We encourage training in values such as respect, solidarity and responsibility through meaningful and reflective experiences. Students develop empathy, critical thinking and awareness of their actions, strengthening their identity and learning to live together in a positive and committed way.

At Colegio Pedro de Valdivia Providencia, language immersion is one of the foundations of our educational approach, enriched by programmes such as the English Speaking Union.
From the very beginning, students thrive in a bilingual environment, building confidence in both English and Spanish while also having the opportunity to discover other languages, including Chinese. This continuous exposure helps them feel at ease in a global community, developing the skills, understanding, and confidence to connect across cultures and contexts.
Each year, students take part in enriching multicultural and multilingual experiences through our International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS). From representing a country as a delegate to the United Nations to connecting with peers from around the world, these programmes offer meaningful global experiences that broaden horizons and deepen understanding.
Each ILOS programme is carefully designed to inspire students to explore their interests and develop the confidence, perspective and skills needed to thrive in today’s interconnected world.
Here you will find the materials lists, reading plan titles and study texts for Primary School.
Please begin sending in the required texts according to the guidance shared in the welcome emails from each Head Teacher and in line with the schedule for each school stage. We kindly ask families to take special care when preparing these resources and to ensure that every item is clearly labelled with the student’s name and year group.
English Speaking Union Chile is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the use of English and strengthening students’ language skills.
Our school actively takes part in its public speaking competitions, debates and academic activities, where students develop confidence in spoken English, strengthen their ability to argue effectively and grow as confident public speakers.
Through these experiences, we enrich their all-round education, nurture critical thinking and help prepare them to meet the academic and professional challenges of an increasingly globalised world.
