Safeguarding policy

Safeguarding policy

At Colegio Pedro de Valdivia Providencia, we are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment where every student’s wellbeing and protection come first. Our entire school community - staff, families and service providers - shares the responsibility of preventing, identifying and responding to any risk, abuse or neglect.

Guided by clear protocols and ongoing training, we work together to protect every child and ensure their holistic development in a secure and caring environment.

Measures of safety

School coexistence

Learning to live well with others is a vital part of every student’s journey. This principle shapes the school community, guiding the conditions for positive coexistence and the wide range of activities designed to nurture a supportive environment and develop the skills that help students build respectful, positive relationships — a fundamental part of the school’s ethos.

Committee for Good School Coexistence

Committee for Good School Coexistence

A community free from harassment and discrimination

This body plays a vital role in fostering an educational environment where every member of the community feels safe, respected and valued. A positive school climate not only supports students’ emotional wellbeing, but also makes an important contribution to their academic achievement and overall development.

School Coexistence Management Plan

Clear strategies for positive school life

Our School Coexistence Management Plan sets out clear guidelines, goals and actions to strengthen community life, prevent risk situations and promote mutual respect. This institutional framework defines objectives, roles and procedures to ensure a fair, consistent and formative approach to school life.

Life skills

Life skills

Competencies that drive holistic development

These competencies are grouped into five areas: interpersonal, self-leadership, cognitive, global and digital. Developed in line with our Be Kind ethos, these skills are nurtured through learning experiences and activities that support each student’s growth.

We are Be Kind

We are Be Kind

School life in our educational community is shaped by the institutional pillars that guide every interaction. At the heart of this approach is our Be Kind ethos, which encourages empathy, respect and mutual understanding in everyday life. We believe kindness is a core value that strengthens relationships and fosters a positive culture of coexistence across the whole community.

Through our Be Kind Seal, kindness is nurtured each day in the classroom and across all school activities as a cross-curricular competency. This approach promotes empathy, respect and inclusion, enriching both school life and learning. We are committed to creating an environment where every student, teacher and member of staff feels valued, supported and respected.
