Closing and transition ceremony: from Primary to Middle School

On the afternoon of Wednesday 10 December, Year 4 students took part in their closing and transition ceremony from Primary School to Middle School, a moment filled with emotion for students, teachers and families.

The ceremony began with a speech by our Headmistress, María Teresa Villa, who addressed the students as they marked this important step in their school journey. This was followed by speeches from each class teacher, who highlighted their students’ personal and academic growth over the years.

Afterwards, each class gave a musical performance, with students singing enthusiastically accompanied by music teacher Nicolás Fita, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere among those present.

The presentation of transition diplomas then took place, followed by the awarding of skills diplomas, recognising areas such as Respect and Integrity, Determination and Resilience, Companionship and Solidarity, Responsibility and Discipline, Positivity and Joy, Creativity and Imagination, as well as skills in English, Mathematics, Language, Science, Sport, Music, Culture and Creative Spirit. Finally, institutional awards were presented, including Effort and Perseverance, Be Kind, Best Classmate, Positive Leadership, All-round Excellence and Valdivian Spirit.

Before the ceremony came to a close, Head of Section Katherine Toro delivered a heartfelt speech, highlighting the significance of this end of one stage and the beginning of new challenges in Middle School. As a special closing moment, the school community sang the school anthem in English for the first time.
