The event was organized by the National Sports Institute and the Extracurricular Program of the Education Department of the Providencia Social Development Corporation. The tournament took place in person at Liceo 7 de Providencia, bringing together talented chess players from schools across the community. The top two competitors in each category earned a place in the provincial stage of the championship. Our students delivered an outstanding performance, achieving excellent results. We would especially like to recognize Diego D., from Grade 10B, who earned second place in the Boys' Youth Category, securing qualification for the provincial stage of the tournament. We also congratulate Martín P., from Grade 11A, who achieved third place in the same category, demonstrating an impressive level of skill and competitiveness. We congratulate all of our students for representing our school with commitment, enthusiasm, and outstanding sportsmanship in such a highly competitive event. This experience allowed them to continue developing key skills such as concentration, strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving—essential competencies that chess nurtures and that align closely with our Life Competencies. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and wish them every success in the challenges ahead!
