During the week of April 20 to 24, our school community enthusiastically celebrated Literacy Week, an initiative that invited students from all cycles to engage with reading through a variety of creative and meaningful experiences.In Early Years School, younger students participated in classroom-based activities that fostered a love for books from an early age. As a closing activity, they enjoyed a theatre performance on Friday, allowing them to experience literature in a playful and engaging way.In Primary School, several initiatives left a strong impression on students. On Wednesday, April 22, second graders had a special meeting with author Cristóbal Sprätz, who shared a meaningful and enjoyable session around his book “A Bug’s Class”, bringing students closer to the fascinating world of insects and highlighting the importance of every living being.As part of the celebration, on April 23 the “Fine Arts of Literature Museum” was held, where students from 1st to 8th grade brought literature to life through art. Each class presented creative works inspired by classical texts and their reading plans, including artistic installations and living sculptures that amazed the entire community.On Thursday, April 24, the week concluded with a community activity: a book sale in collaboration with Capibara Lector, a bookstore run by parents of the school, which offered children’s literature at special prices and also made a valuable donation to the library, further strengthening reading promotion.In Middle School, students took part in interactive recess activities such as bookmark creation and Scrabble games. In addition, student-written stories were displayed, allowing the community to explore and appreciate their creative work.Finally, in Senior School, a civic assembly was held to commemorate World Book Day. During this event, students presented various projects, including opinion columns, recreations of scenes from well-known books, and Instagram profiles of classic authors, showcasing their creativity and reflection on literature.Overall, Literacy Week became a rich and meaningful experience where reading took center stage, strengthening imagination, learning, and the connection with books across the entire school community.
